It’s Still Christmas

But today is still Christmas. We can look upon the infant in the manger and imagine our own newborn souls lying there. There is a whole new year before us to nurture and care for our baby souls. Stick around Epiphany very long and you will learn that here is a community devoted to the raising and training of souls, yours and mine and each others’. It’s still Christmas.

Christ the King

Today’s gospel reading is out of context from what we have been hearing in recent weeks and from what we will be hearing as Advent begins next Sunday. It is from the end of John and is a conversation between Jesus and Pilate. The reason we are hearing this today is because this Sunday marks the Feast of Christ as King, even though the text clearly shows that Jesus is not any kind of earthly king.
