Dear Epiphany,
It is with tremendous excitement that I get to announce Cadence Moore joining the Epiphany staff as Lay Ministry Coordinator.
When I returned to Epiphany last summer, I was tasked with the oversight of all programs and ministries related to children, youth, and families. In the post-COVID world, that has been a challenge. Only weeks after my arrival, Cadence started a 9-month internship as a component of her seminary studies at Seattle Pacific University. Throughout this first year, Cadence has been my right-hand supporting our weekly Sunday School program, creating the Come As You Are service, and rebuilding programs for our middle and high school students.
Since the start of the year, Cadence has done remarkable work including:
- re-starting the Youth Group now meeting monthly
- facilitating the participation of 15 teenagers in the RELATA for Christians series
- established a weekly Sunday School class for teenagers
- creating a team of young adults who work collaboratively to run these new programs for teens
- launching a new group for parishioners in their 20s & 30s
As we celebrate Cadence’s graduation in early June, we give thanks for her ministry during this internship. After a short break, Cadence will return to the Epiphany staff in July working part-time in this new role. With additional hours, Cadence will continue building on the good work she has already begun as well as providing administrative staff support to other groups in the parish; such as the Men’s Ministry and the Women’s Retreat Group. It is a joy to work with Cadence on these important ministries and I give thanks for her stepping into this new role. Please join me in welcoming her in this new capacity!
