WRG July 21st Meet and Tag On Notes
A lively group of music lovers met this past Friday at the Concerts in the Courtyard. The August 21st group was Honey Babe, a Women’s Retreat Group “find” during our April 2022 retreat while taking in the sights and sounds at the nearby Alderbrook Lodge.
This past Friday, the courtyard area we set up had balloons, comfy cushions, a few chairs, and picnic blankets. We had delicious food, pre-ordered Shawarma from Med Mex, and onsite vegetarian fare from Dani’s catering—a beautiful evening with a very fun group of women.
Honey Babe is an American Folk band from Shelton and plays a mix of covers from Joni Mitchell and Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t make you Love Me”. And Melanie’s (Melanie Sakfka) classic hit was “I’ve got a brand-new pair of roller skates, and you’ve got a brand-new key.” What fun! Another favorite was Adele’s “To make you feel my love.” The Honey Babe lead singer, Camila Robinson, has such a strong, beautiful voice – she sings Opera too! The band also played several of their original songs and are coming out with a CD shortly. Here is the contact detail for the band: honey.babe.contact@gmail.com .
This gathering was another great and friendship building time, which is the purpose of our Meet & Tag Ons. We had over twenty-five women present through our program, with many friends brought along to enjoy the evening, ambiance, and music.
Please Save the Date, Thursday, August 3rd, for our third Meet and Tag On from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Diocesan House on Capitol Hill, where we will enjoy a conversation with the Most Reverend Melissa, Bishop Provisional, afterward, we will have a cheese and wine social onsite.
