It is my privilege to be a nominee to the Vestry. I became an Episcopalian in my early twenties and was a member of St. Mark’s Cathedral from 1982 to 2005; I attended St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church from 2005 to approximately 2010, when I attended the mid-week Ash Wednesday service at Epiphany; I have been a regular participant ever since.
In my professional life, I am a graduate of the University of Washington with a degree in Elementary Education and English. I have been teaching in Seattle independent schools since 1980, beginning my career at Seattle Country Day in 1981, and moving on to The Valley School in Madison Valley in 1990 before starting The Lake and Park School as a pre K-2nd grade school in the Mt. Baker neighborhood in 2003. The school now offers preschool through fifth grade education and, because of its small size, I enjoy dual roles as K-1 teacher and Head.
Personally, I am a single person, parent of a thirty-five year old daughter who lives in the Seattle area. I look forward to supporting the parish in the role as a Vestry member.
