Face to Face: Conversations with God and One Another
Dates: December 3, 4, and 5
Location: St. Andrew’s Retreat Center on Hood Canal
Facilitator: The Rev. Dr. Ronald David, MD
For this prayerful and contemplative retreat, the Reverend Ronald David MD will offer a framework for reflecting on our individual and collective experiences of coming face-to-face with God, our neighbors, and existential challenges—most especially in the context of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Our retreat pattern will be as it has been for the last many years. We will be guided by Hour By Hour prayers, we will have silence, and there will be time for journaling. There will be one on one conversations, group reflections, and, on Sunday, a Eucharistic service. It will be a terrific retreat.
I am thrilled that Ron will be here from Charlotte, NC where he lives in retirement. Ron has enjoyed the privileges and honors of several vocational pursuits, including the practice of neonatal medicine at the University Health Center of Pittsburgh, deputy and acting secretary of health for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, consultant to Mr. Rogers in the development of a book Going to the Doctor: First Experiences, lecturer in public policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, ordination to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church, and supervisor of clinical pastoral education at the Hospital of the Good Samaritan in Los Angeles, California. Finally, but not least, Ron is godfather to my son, Desmond.
The cost is $250. If you are interested in attending, please contact Brad Wakeman at brad@lakere.com.
