Super Bowl Appreciation from Amanda

Our Super Bowl party tradition started back in 2017 with just Billy Rosewarne and me. Since then, we’ve hosted a party every single year! We now co-host with Alvin Moseberry and receive amazing help from our awesome choir members.

Every year, we move couches from all around campus into the Great Hall so we can gather together as a parish community. This party is truly a special time of fellowship for everyone—from 2-year-olds to our oldest members. People join us from near and far: be they neighbors, choir, staff, RELATA attendees, the Vestry—you name it!

This year was full of laughter, cheering, and so much good food. Our potluck filled five whole tables! We had everything from delicious homemade dishes to beer and non-alcoholic drinks. There was so much joy in the room. Some of us even danced their hearts out!

At the end of the night, I stepped into the Great Hall kitchen for just a moment. When I came back out, the couches were already disappearing, as everyone worked together to clean up. This was such a moving moment for me. It showed me how our congregation truly comes together in fellowship and teamwork. The whole party felt relaxing, joyful, and exactly what a strong community should look like.

Back in 2017, we had 70 people attend. This past Sunday, February 8, we had an amazing 127 attendees! Our community is growing, which is so exciting to see.

Click here to see what a blast we had! And from the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who helped make this party such a success.

Be sure to save the date for next year: Sunday, February 14, 2027. You won’t want to miss it!

With gratitude and excitement,
Amanda
