The Art of Grief: Sunday Forum & Four Week Series

The Art of Grief is a series led by parishioner Nicola Davies J.D., PCC, beginning on Sunday, May 11, at 10:00 am and then, running four consecutive Wednesday evenings (May 14, 21, 28, and June 4) from 6:30 – 8:30 pm.

Grief is a complex and deeply personal experience that often feels overwhelming and isolating. Whether you’re mourning the loss of a loved one or coping with a significant life change, the journey through grief can be long and challenging. We all experience a variety of losses in life and we each walk the path of grief differently. Engaging in art and creative expression can be a powerful way to honor and process intense emotions that expand beyond words.

In this 4-week series, we’ll explore ways in which hands-on creativity can assist in the coping process and offer guidance on how to incorporate it into your healing journey. Through a variety of journal prompts and simple art projects, you will experience what neuroscience has proven: creative expression has both emotional and physiological benefits.

Loss and creativity are both essential parts of the human experience. This course offers an opportunity to connect with ourselves and each other as we seek to discover ways to move forward, insights and meaning. No “skill” is necessary. The process itself is profoundly cathartic. All materials will be provided.
