“Christian RELATA” is the framework in which we reflect on the stories of Jesus in the hope of seeing how his humanity is a model for how we can live our lives. Every single person is made in the image and likeness of God. The framework of religion, specifically Christianity, which is built around the personhood of Jesus, becomes the playbook through which we reveal the kingdom of God in the activities of our lives.
RELATA is a community spiritual exercise created by Epiphany parish to draw together the community (however it defines itself), not to change the world, but to reveal the world as God designed it to be. What we have learned through the RELATA experience is that when we listen to and tell stories from the heart, judgment is forestalled and love is revealed. It is by RELATA that, at Epiphany, we intend to heal this divided world, and in doing so reveal the universal, inclusive, love of God.
This Lent, we invite you to participate in a Jesus RELATA, a six-week journey where we will gather around tables each Sunday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, reflecting on the life of Jesus through the RELATA lens. Click here to register.
Register here as your registration helps us create a consistent and meaningful table experience throughout the six weeks. Join us for what promises to be a refreshing and enriching way to experience Lent at Epiphany. Youth (6th-12th grades) are encouraged to participate as well!
For those who have children, we have activities for all ages during this series. 6th – 12th graders are invited to sign up for Christian RELATA as well. The Nursery is open and elementary age kids can play organized/supervised games in the Fireside Room and Courtyard. If you have any questions about that, please contact the Rev. Kate Wesch at kwesch@epiphanyseattle.org
