To The Ends Of The Earth

Holy Week 2023

April 10, Palm Sunday
8:45 am & 11:00 am | Church & YouTube
Evensong | 5:30 pm | Church & YouTube

Plan to arrive at ten minutes before the service to get a palm branch for the procession into the church. Gather in the Courtyard (or the Great Hall, if it is raining). You may choose to bring a branch you have cut at home. Be sure to take some palm crosses home with you at the end of the service, to keep or deliver to a friend unable to attend church.

April 11, Monday in Holy Week
Stations of the Cross | 7:30 pm | Chapel
Online Stations | 7:30 – 9:30 pm | Zoom

Experience the Way of the Cross through scripture reading, prayers, and quiet time of prayer and meditation.

If you are joining us on Zoom, find a quiet place where you can fully meditate on the last days of Jesus. We need a Lector/Leader and Intercessor for each of the 14 Stations. The readings will be provided. Please sign up for the Zoom liturgy at this link

April 12, Tuesday in Holy Week
Taizé | 7:30 pm | Church & YouTube

Join the Epiphany Choir for chanting, readings, candle lighting, and prayers.

April 13, Wednesday in Holy Week
Tenebrae | 7:30 pm | Church & YouTube

Latin for “Darkness,” Tenebrae is an ancient service of prayer in which candles are gradually extinguished.
The church grows increasingly dim as we meditate on the final hours of Christ’s life during Holy Week.

April 14, Maundy Thursday
Agape meal
| 6:00 pm, Great Hall
Liturgy | 7:30 pm, Church & YouTube

Watchnight Vigil following the service in the Chapel.
An online Vigil will also be kept on Zoom from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.

The Agape meal is an opportunity for fellowship in the manner of the Last Supper. Please bring a meatless meal of soup, olives, cheese, fruit, red wine, and juices. No dessert, please. If you are planning to have your feet washed as part of the Maundy Thursday Liturgy, please be sure to wear shoes and socks that are easy to remove. No nylons, please.

We will also have a prayer vigil on Zoom starting 9:00 pm on Thursday until 6:00 am on Friday. The Zoom will be open for people to drop in and out of all night. Each hour, we will have scripture reading, meditation, and prayer. We want to have at least one person praying each hour. Sign up for the online Vigil here. If you are willing to read a scripture or meditation on Zoom, you can sign up here.
